Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) govern the terms of service regarding the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Share Your Messages Campaign (the “Campaign”), sponsored by AEON RETAIL Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our Company”) and operated by the AEON Connect Asia Campaign office (the “Campaign Office”).

We advise users using this Campaign website (“Site”) or participating in this Campaign (“Users”) to thoroughly read and agree to these Terms and Conditions (Users who are minors must have their parent/guardian agree on their behalf) before participating in this Campaign.

If you cannot agree to these Terms and Conditions, please refrain from the use of this Site or participation in the Campaign. By using this Site, you indicate that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and agree to abide by them at all times.

Our Company may edit the Site content and/or these Terms and Conditions without prior notice.

Regarding the Use of This Site

Purpose and Environment of Use

The purpose of this Site is to help visualize the support of Users from around the world to the athletes participating in Aichi-Nagoya 2026.

Users are held liable for communication devices, software, other necessary environment, and telecommunication costs required for the use of this Site.

Restrictions on Message Content

Users may not include the following in the messages to post on the Site:

  1. Content that may slander or defame an athlete, a particular individual, an organization, country, region, ethnic group, religion, or any other beliefs and practices.
  2. Advertisements or solicitations for political, religious, or commercial purposes.
  3. Personal information that may be used to identify an individual such as name (real name, not nickname), address, phone number, 
and email address.
  4. Content that may violate the copyrights, portrait rights, or intellectual property rights of a third party.
  5. Expressions that may violate public order and morality or may make others feel uncomfortable.
  6. Any other content that the Campaign Office determines as inappropriate.

Publication and Copyrights, Trademarks, and Symbols

Messages that are posted may be deleted if the Campaign Office finds any of the aforementioned violations in its content.

The copyright of the posted message will belong to the User who posted the message. By posting the message, the User indicates that he/she permits the Campaign Office to freely use and disclose the message (use for advertisement materials, distribute on social media, translate to other languages, summarize, etc.) to any region around the world. Furthermore, it will be deemed that the User has agreed not to exercise the moral rights of authorship.

1. Copyrights

Our Company or the respective providers hold intellectual property rights, including copyrights, usage rights, or other rights, in all works, portraits, characters, marks, and other information on this Site. Downloading, printing out, and reproducing/reprinting of the Site content are limited to personal use by individuals or within their households.
Please refrain from reusing (copying, uploading, posting, referencing, or exercising any other forms of reuse) information and programs published on the Site to other websites or printed materials. Do not use content published on this Site without permission beyond the scope permitted by the copyright law.

2. Trademarks and Symbols

The rights regarding trademarks and symbols displayed on this Site are owned by our Company or by the rights holders that have granted us permission to use them. Do not use these trademarks or symbols without the permission of the rights’ owner.

Restrictions Regarding Use

  1. Our Company reserves rights to create regulations regarding customers’ use of services and restricting customers’ use when necessary. When our Company determines as necessary, we are given the right to revise the regulations regarding customers’ use of services without prior notice to the customers.
  2. When our Company creates or revises regulations regarding customers’ use of services, we shall notify customers via this Site. When these notifications get published on this Site and become referenceable by customers when they access this Site, it shall be deemed that the customers have been notified of these creations or revisions.
  3. When a customer violates these Terms and Conditions or our Company incurs damage by a customer’s action, the customer is held liable to compensate for the damages incurred by our Company.

This Site uses cookies to provide more optimal services to our customers. Cookies are used for:

1. Maintaining site functionality and ensuring security

This Site uses cookies for management of functionality such as the site’s operational behavior.
Scope of use: Usage of cookies is limited to functions that secure the system’s security (session management), maintenance of input information, and other functions that are essential for proper operational behavior.
Application to personal information: These cookies are not stored or used in association with customers’ personal information such as name, phone number, and address that were provided by the customer.

2. Traffic analysis

This Site uses “Google Analytics”, a traffic analysis tool provided by Google, to understand the usage conditions of this Site, which will help us improve Site content and quality.
Information gathered: Google Analytics uses cookies to gather traffic data. Such data is collected anonymously and does not include information that can be used to identify an individual.

Campaigns for Sharing on Social Media: Regulations Limited to Japan Only

Campaigns run on this Site which reward Users who have shared their messages on their social media accounts are limited to Users who reside in Japan.
Information necessary to send reward gifts will be requested only from the Campaign winners via the Direct Message (DM) function of their social media account.
Please do not enter any personal information in this Site for any reasons.
If we do not receive any reply by the specified due date from the User after we notify him/her of his/her Campaign win or we are unable to deliver the reward gift due to unknown addresses or long-term absence, the User’s win shall be made invalid.

Registration of the Recipient’s Address and Shipping of Reward Gifts
  1. The application for this Campaign shall be deemed completed when all registration processes from the application form are completed.
  2. The applicant him/herself shall follow the instructions on the application form to enter and register truthful and accurate application data. When there is a mistake in the application data, falsely registered information in the application, or the application was registered by a person other than the applicant, the drawing win shall be made invalid. The drawing win may be made invalid when we determine it necessary to do so for any other reasons than those given above.
  3. The shipping of the reward gift will be based on the information registered in (2) (Gifts will only be shipped to destinations within Japan).
  4. The shipping of the reward gift is limited to one time only. If the recipient is unable to receive the gift for any reason, we will not resend the reward gift. However, this is not limited to cases where there is an obvious gross negligence by our Company.
Notification/Communication
  1. When our Company determines it necessary to notify or contact applicants, we will contact the applicants by phone or mail based on the registered information aforementioned in the previous clause.
  2. When a customer determines it necessary to contact our Company, please contact us using the specified contact information.

Temporary Suspension of Services

Our Company may temporarily suspend our services without prior notice to our customers for unexpected reasons as indicated below. Our Company shall not be held responsible for any damages that customers may incur due to this temporary suspension of services.

  1. Regular or emergency maintenance of hardware, software, and other applications to provide services.
  2. Services cannot be provided due to earthquakes, fires, floods, volcanic eruptions, blackouts, and other disasters.
  3. Services cannot be provided due to wars, riots, uprisings, and any other disturbances.
  4. Continuation of Site operations is not possible due to server breakdowns, cracking, and other systematical disturbances.
  5. Other operational or technical reasons for suspension which our Company determines as necessary.

Limitation of Liabilities

Our Company does not guarantee the integrity, accuracy, or utility of information, programs, services, and any other matters provided or published on this Site.

Our Company shall not be held liable for damages incurred by our customer due to software/hardware troubles that occur when using this Site, issues that arise among customers or a customer and a third party, or any other accidents.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

Any dispute between our Company and a customer arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be resolved by sincere discussion by both parties.
If the need for litigation arises, these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Japan and litigations shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court in the first instance.
